William H. Thompson, 1802-1865

 Series — Box: 5-7

Scope and Contents

This series contains papers relating to the business and personal life of William H. Thompson. The majority of the series is correspondence, however it also contains deeds, bills and receipts, and and various other financial legal documents. Additionally, there is material relating to some property and possibly a store that William was connected to in Lyon, NY. It appears that his brother’s wife, Phebe Thompson, lived in Lyon, NY, which might explain the connection to that particular town. One item of note is a copy of the oath used to swear William in as Postmaster in 1802.
