Scope and Contents
This volume contains many entries for firkins of butter being shipped to other towns. It also notes the purchase of maple sugar in March 1798.
It includes a few listings of African American patrons, including "Philip Wells loaf of sugar per your Negro" on 27 September 1797; Cyrus Negro 21 December 1797 credited for one day of chopping wood and charged for one pair of mittens; Cyrus Negro on 25 December, 1797 credited for chopping wood; and Cyrus Negro charged on 30 December 1797 for tobacco. There is also an entry for "Sirus Negro 1 Gill Brandy" on 24 March 1798.
