Scope and Contents
Four letters from Benjamin Tallmadge to John Paine Cushman, and one letter from J. T. Stoddert to Tallmadge. The letters from Tallmadge discuss financial matters, including the potential sale of land; political matters, including Tallmadge's approval of General Andrew Jackson; and religious matters: he relates the powerful effects of Rev. Lyman Beecher's recent sermon.
The letter from Stoddard responds to Tallmadge's request for information on his own case against his debtors Campbell and Jenifer.
