Scope and Contents
Four letters, from Benjamin Tallmadge to John Paine Cushman and Maria (Tallmadge) Cushman, which primarily discuss financial matters, including the suit against Samuel Brown and the purchase of a mortgage. He also mentions the arrival of his son George Washington Tallmadge on furlough from West Point.
To his daughter Maria, Tallmadge also writes concerning his desire to leave land in Ohio to his children, and reports on the death of Lyman Beecher's child and other social and family news.
