Letter from Litchfield with local news. The town is in need of rain. Dr. Dwight is there to preach; says she has never heard a more charming speaker. She has had the Beechers and Reeves for tea; mentions sermons of Backus and Camp. Requests Frederick find their son a Morocco Jockey and a piece of linen as well as a piece of cloth to make a suit for their son. Mr. Smith has been papering and painting their East Room, would like to know if it is possible to get a proper paper for their North room.
