Scope and Contents
Turner Woodruff & Co. account book (1959-35-0), is an account book used by a general store. The book was used during August 25, 1814 through October 17, 1814. The entries in the account book include who the transaction was with, what the costumer purchased, and sometimes prices are included. While no name of an owner is found on the book, the customer names and the time periods makes it highly possible that it was used by Turner Woodruff & Co. Turner Woodruff & Co. was a business operated by Isaac Turner and Enoch J. Woodruff in Northfield from 1794-1822. They ran a general store as well as servedas mortgage/real estate brokers. This account book includes recordings of large financial transactions, including loans. This item is housed in 3B Box 108.
