Scope and Contents

The Andrew Clark Pikosky Collection, 2002-35-0, includes papers and photographs from his parents, and in particular his father, Edward Pikosky.  Among the items are programs from various professional and amateur theatrical productions in Litchfield and Litchfield County, photographs of Edward Pikosky and from World War I, paper from World War II, a Christmas card from Charles H. Turkington, circa 1930s; and 1 small notebook related to the Litchfield Flood Control Commission, 1956-1958. Also a folder with correspondence regarding Andrew's involvement in the Griswold Family Association. Andrew Clark Pikosky is the son of Edward Pikosky (1886-1970) and Marjorie Clark Pikosky (1891-1983) of Litchfield.  Edward Pikosky was a drillmaster in the US Army and while living in Litchfield durig World War I he helped form two companies, the "Litchfield Rifles" and the "Litchfield Light Horse." Neither company had a role in the armed forces.  The Pikosky family lived on Meadow Street beginning in 1937. Oversized photos from accrual stored in oversized box 9A

Biographical or Historical Information

Andrew Clark Pikosky was the son of Edward Pikosky (1886-1970) and Marjorie Clark Pikosky (1891-1983) of Litchfield.  Edward Pikosky was a drillmaster in the US Army and while living in Litchfield durig World War I he helped form two companies, the "Litchfield Rifles" and the "Litchfield Light Horse." Neither company had a role in the armed forces.  The Pikosky family lived on Meadow Street beginning in 1937.

Initial gift 2002-35-0, followed by 2002-63-0, and an additional gift in 2005-16-0. Two unnumbered items that relate to Edward Pikosky have also been added to this collectio (Air Raid Warden and Selective Service Certificates). Found in collection accession number 1981-355. Another accrual, 2023-05-0, came from relatives following the deaths of Pikosky and his wife.
