DeForest; would like to buy some shoes made by Mr. Munson of Litchfield, but will not send money by mail.

Scope and Contents From the Collection: The papers of Elihu Harrison (1797-1855) consist primarily of his business papers including bills, accounts, receipts, and orders. Elihu Harrison was a storekeeper and business man in Litchfield, first in the South Farms section (now the town of Morris) and later, about 1825, in the center of Litchfield. From the goods he purchased from wholesale merchants in New Haven and New York, it is evident that he ran a general store, selling a variety of dry goods, hardware, and groceries. The...
