The latter purchased snuff, Skin and Hyson Tea, nutmegs, casks of wine. A December 13, 1832 letter reports the dissolution of the firm of Hotchkiss, Towner & Atwater to be succeeded by Towner & Atwater in a store adjoining their old stand on the corner of State and Chapel Streets.
