Ephraim Kirby certifies that he is a business associate of Samuel Andrew Law and that he finds him to be, "a gentleman of strict honor and integrity."  Kirby goes on to explain that Law has a respectible property and that he would not hesitate personally to "receive his obligations for ten or fifteen thousand dollars."
