Probate records for the estate of Amelia Ogden, heir to the Tapping Reeve house including contracts for the sale of the house from Ogden to Lewis B. Woodruff. Despite the sale, Ogden was permitted to live in the house until her death. Folder contains some transcriptions.

Photocopies of chapters from various secondary sources providing biographical and genealogical information on James Gould. Also includes a certified copy of live-birth record from the town of Branford.

Three copies of the 1849 catalogue of students. One belonged to Lewis B. Woodruff and contains marginalia and several pages of added notes; the second was given to a Mr. Bigelow from Seth Preston Beers; a third bears no inscription but contains several pages of added notes.

Publication subtitled "The Lawyer's Magazine" contains an article on p. 40, "Litchfield: America's First Law School" by Elizabeth Muhlfeld. The article is a reprint from the November 1958 Boston Bar Journal.

Photocopies and transcriptions of letters from Aaron Burr and Theodosia Prevost to Sally Burr Reeve.

One letter of introduction to Tapping Reeve informing him that William Martin proposes to attend his "much valued" Law School. Calhoun provides character information and goes on to thank Reeve for the advantages derived from his instruction.

Letter to his second wife, Elizabeth "Betsey" Thompson Reeve, notes his arrival and that his grandson, Tapping Burr Reeve, is not in good health. Requests that she send him news of her health and business at home; Undated note to Mr. Tracy [Uriah] regarding a court case, Benedict vs. Bronson.
