Of special interest is a bill dated 17 June 1797 from New Haven promising to pay Misters Miller and Whitney at their store in New Haven half a ton of bar iron within three months. A note on the back dated 28 June 1797 indicates that it is paid in full. There is also a note from Philo Ruggles of 28 November 1797 stating that Gideon Wickham owes Ruggles thirty shillings and nine pence which he wishes to pay in...
