Cornelia E. Boardman writes to her brother William Whiting about her mother's health. Says she's had a miserable day and has not been up long enough to have her bed made. The doctor came and gave her something that caused her to vomit a great deal; she later ate soft oysters and asparagus and was distressed again around three. Wishes he would visit soon.

Cornelia things she needs fresh air and exercise, but doesn’t think she will get her out until William comes.
