Abstract The Emma L. Adams composition book (2011-41-0) contains handwritten compositions by Emma L. Adams between October 30, 1875 and November 25, 1876. The small bound notebook contains various compositions dealing with a variety of topics. One titled "A day at Irvington and Tarrytown" describes a day excursion by train of school girls from Brooklyn up the Hudson River.
