Biography

George Gould is both a Litchfield Female Academy and Litchfield Law School Student. Gould was born in Litchfield, Connecticut on September 2nd, 1807. He began attended the Litchfield Female Academy in 1819 and completed studying there in 1823, and then began to study at Yale College in 1823. He graduated from Yale in 1827. After graduating from Yale he studied at the Litchfield Law School (his father lectured at the LLS). He was admitted to the bar in 1830. Gould later lived in New York where he was the mayor of Troy, NY in 1852 and a Justice of the Superior Court of New York from 1855-1863. He died December 6th, 1868.
