Research and interviews. According to his biography in Folder 4, Mr. Kauffman first met Anna Zaremba, later Thompson, in Hartford, Conn. in 1978, when he was the city editor for the Hartford Advocate and she was the coordinator of volunteers for the Conn. Dept. of Corrections.
