Masefield pledges to read and critique Bull’s ‘little play’ just received; forwards doctor’s letter and receipt confirming American Ambulance Hospital patient Louis Leborgne as recipient of Bull’s gift; promises further paperwork; details his exchange of [two hundred] dollars into francs for the purchase of two artificial legs: one from Bull; one from Masefield; ‘1000 francs in all’.
