HILL CREST, BOAR’S HILL, OXFORD. Undated [1923?] Masefield thanks Bull for kind and charming letter, blames delayed reply on his directing and acting in several plays; is glad to hear from Bull, happy she is acting again, and pleased she enjoyed “King Cole” illustrated by his daughter, Judith. (Macmillan, New York, 1921). Masefield describes Cole’s hilltop property near Oxford; draws related cartoon; muses about the circus-owner’s legacy; notes nearby asylum and closes with quip about poets.
