Writes from Washington, D.C. Received Wolcott's letter and enclosure of account of taxes; believes charges are erroneous and requests Wolcott look over his Deeds of Connecticut Western Reserve Lands; notes that Wolcott is selling his land to Mr. Sandford and requests that his small plots be included in the sale; reports that Congress anticipates war but he does not believe they are serious in making war upon Great Britain; there is no experienced statesman from Great Britain in the U.S.; rejoices that Betsey Wolcott's health is returning; inquires about sale of pews from the meeting house.
