Scope and Contents

Writes from Washington, D.C. to thank Wolcott for agreeing to sell land in the Connecticut Western Reserve to Mr. Sanford; includes a list of his lands at the end of the letter which General Wadsworth has paid taxes on for Wolcott and Tallmadge; believes the list to be incomplete; reports on activities of the House of Representatives including the passage of an additional army bill for which the Connecticut delegation voted no; mentions that John C. Calhoun who studied law in Litchfield is very vocal for a young member and is among the ardent men who urge war, which Tallmadge believes to be in folly.
