One receipt contains a letter written at the bottom from Esther Marvin to her brother, Elijah Boardman. She tells him that her husband has gone to New York and carried with him the trunk in which he kept his notes but she will see that the money Boardman sent is endorse upon Marvin's return. Indicates that the subscribers agree that in the event of non-payment and also of the inability of the above named Samuel Whiting and William Whiting to pay the above note, and not otherwise, Boardman will pay the note to Asa Bacon, Jr. The back notes that Whiting paid.
