Scope and Contents Includes two photos. One photo of Ephraim and one of Ruth (Marvin) Kirby. A third photo is of the gravestone of Ephriam Kirby at site of old Fort Stoddert on the Tombigbee River about twenty miles north of Mobile, Alabama. Includes information stating Fort Stoddert was a frontier fort in 1804 when Ephriam Kirby served there as territorial land commisssioner for the Mississippi Territory. At that time Mobile was a Spanish territory. Kirby died October 20, 1804 and was buried at the fort. He...
