Litchfield Law School collection
This collection includes materials pertaining to Tapping Reeve, James Gould, the Litchfield Law School, and alumni of the school. It was assembled by the Historical Society over a period of years. Many of the law books used by Reeve and his students are also held by the Society and can be found through the book catalog. The Society's institutional records document the history of the Tapping Reeve House and Litchfield Law School building.
Correspondence regarding the Shakespeare folio held by the Oliver Wolcott Library of Litchfield, Conn., between Alain C. White and Arthur Bostwick, the Folger Shakespeare Library, and the New York Public Library, Jan.-Mar., 1938.
Litchfield Senior Citizens' Club records
The records of the Litchfield Senior Citizens' Club consist of yearly summaries of activities; correspondence; by-laws; anniversary programs; membership lists; and news clippings. The Club was formed in 1969 with 44 members. At its peak, membership reached 190. Due to dwindling participation and membership, the Club was disbanded in 1999.
