The Buell and Wheeler prescription book (1972-135-0) was maintained from 1876 through 1879. The book contains prescriptions that were filled at the pharmacy of Buell and Wheeler in Litchfield, Connecticut. Along with dealing in drugs, medicines, and prescriptions, Buell and Wheeler also dealt in stationary. Prescriptions written by Dr. Williams Deming, Dr. W.J. Beach, and Dr. H.W. Buel can be found in the volume.

Scope and Contents Crutch's Pharmacy Prescription Book (2012-08-0) contains 8-10 prescription forms per page (glued on), beginning with prescription #142995/December 17, 1913 and ending with #146624/December 3, 1914. No patient names on prescription forms, and only half of the prescriptions are on letterhead. Possible Litchfield doctors included in this book are, Charles I. Page, Marvin Z. Scope and Contents The Maria Tallmadge Cushman home remedies notebook (1949-39-0) was compiled by Maria Tallmadge Cushman from the year 1840 through 1864. The small notebook contains home remedies for illness as well as many recipes and hints for household cleaning. Many of the remedies are handwritten, and a fair amount are newspaper clippings. Health remedies include treatments for cholera, cancer, colds, rheumatism, dysentery, and "Mrs. Noyes Recipe for purifying the blood." Interspersed with health cures...

A handwritten notebook with the title "The Materia Medica & Pharmacopoia of the Philadelphia Dispensary". Four different names can be deciphered including that of William Buel, a doctor in Sheffield, (Mass.) for 20 years, who moved to Litchfield in 1815-1816. The back cover also includes the name of William Williams, Sheffield.

Scope and Contents The Sheldon family papers primarily relate to Daniel Sheldon (1726-1772) and Lucretia Gross Sheldon (1724-1772), their son Dr. Daniel Sheldon (1750-1840), their grandchildren Daniel Sheldon Jr. (1780-1828), Lucy Sheldon Beach (1788-1889), Henry Sheldon (1790-1868?) and William Sheldon (1802-1826), and their great grandson Frederick Sheldon (1827-1907).
