General Horatio Gates signature cut from an unknown document. Also a typed transcript of a letter dated from Albany, 15 Nov. 1777 from Gates to Colonel Bedel with orders concerning the enlistment of a regiment to march and capture the fort at Saint Johns.

Scope and Contents A 46 page notebook of signatures cut from documents and pasted into it by Harriet Kilbourn, wife of Dr. Charles Kilbourn, who lived at #94 North Street in Litchfield. Mostly undated, one has a date of 1813. Many recognizable names from Litchfield including Thomas Collier, Myron Osborn, Oliver Wolcott, James Morris, Sally Pierce, Tapping Reeve, and Uriah Tracy.
