Content Description
Kilbourn family correspondence, primarily of Hiram Kilbourn. There are several letters from Kilbourn to his second wife, Adelia E. Barnes Kilbourn as well as descriptions of his farm in Bethelehem.
Numerous letters from Charlot Partridge to Hiram Kilbourn describe his work as a teacher in various schools in New York state. Partridge addresses Kilbourn as "cousin." An excerpt from a letter written by Barlot Partridge discusses the differences between "Yankee" and Dutch women.
The collection also includes Kilbourn's 1835 appointment as Captain of the 10th company of the 16th regiment, signed by Royal Ralph Hinman and Henry W. Edwards.
